Garden of Life: Raw Protein & Greens Review

One of my favorite brands is Garden of Life. I take their vitamins daily, so I jumped at the chance to review their new  product Raw Protein and Greens.

When the package came I was super excited because not only did I get 3 cases of the powder but this nifty “Green Tastes Better” BPA free blender bottle.

So let’s talk about the product.

Taste

First I love the taste (I’m not just saying that) I’ve tried a lot of protein powders and this brand is probably top 2 in taste for sure. It has a filling, tasty and drinkable texture when blended properly. It’s not chalky or powdery like a lot of protein powders.

There are also few protein powders that I just want to drink with water but this one I can enjoy with just water. I’ve also mixed into a green smoothie for extra oomph. The case suggests drinking it with Almond milk, I personally haven’t tried this (yet) but I can assume it will be even better than it is with water.

Ingredients

As far ingredients go this is #1 for sure.

It’s not made from a bunch of random man-made forms of protein. The experts at Garden of life have worked to create an organic, gluten-free, vegan, dairy free and soy free protein powder made from natural sources including organic peas, spinach, broccoli, chia and sprouted brown rice (to name a few).

It’s also made with raw probiotics. I know probiotics have had some controversy lately, about if they really are good for you or not. But as someone who has had digestive issues and suffered from stomach sensitivity her whole life I personally have seen a huge benefit from using probiotics in moderation (I think people who respond badly may be taking too large of a dose…but I’m no doctor).

Label info

Each serving (1 provided scoop) is only 120 calories with less than 1 gram of sugar and 20 grams of protein!

The bottle?

As I mentioned before this awesome blender bottle is BPA free. It definitely earns the name blender bottle, because it does a great job of breaking down the powder into the water. Also you don’t have to worry about leaking protein juice (is that something dirty?) everywhere because it actually doesn’t leak, which is more than I can say about other sports water bottles I’ve had before.

I got it in 3 awesome flavors; Chocolate, Vanilla and Lightly Sweetened. My favorite? The Lightly Sweetened.

I am hooked. Don’t take my word for it, try it yourself.

Have you tried Garden of Life products before? What did you think?

Glad to know the taste is good on this product. I appreciate someone else trying them out so I don’t have to be the taste tester. All I need to do is purchase the products.

I’ve seen this brand before, but never tried it. Trying a bunch of protein powders to find the perfect one is a little too expensive for my tastes. 🙂 Thanks for the review! You’ve convinced me to try it!

Yeah some are very pricey, so you end up trying least expensive ones or hoping for samples (I don’t spend a crapton on protein) and then end up disappointed. I never buy multiples ones at a time, use one they get it again or try a new one. It’s good to find one that has good stuff from the start.

Hahah I understand that. I hope you enjoy it!

A protein powder with greens?! Awesome. I’m super picky about taste so I’m glad to see these ones are good!

This product sounds AMAZING! I low key (high key) have been in dire need of a protein powder to add to my smoothies. Additionally, my boyfriend and I have been trying to rev up our veggie intake and this seems to be a sound solution. Do you know anything about the pricing?

  14. Dia

I’m not too sure on the pricing on this particular bottle Roxy but I know it comes in different sizes if you want to start with a smaller size.

  15. Dia

Right it’s like a extra benefit I haven’t seen in any other powder
