Lately, I have been working on living a healthier lifestyle. I’ve been going on walks at lunch trying to cut back on fried foods, and limiting my bread, red meat, and alcohol intake during the week.

I’ve also gotten back into firing up my blender and making my green meal replacement smoothies at least once a day.

I won’t lie green smoothies can be an acquired taste. For me, like most people they started off as mostly fruit with a handful of greens..spoiler alert fruit is a lot of carbs and sugar. Yes, healthy carbs and natural sugar but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Over time, I started to add less fruit and more greens to my smoothie allowing me to adapt my palate to the taste of blended kale.

I was contacted by Energy First President and CEO, Gerry Morton to try and review some of the products And jumped at the chance to review these products.

Before I jump into this delicious meal replacement smoothie I’ve been having for lunch. I want to talk about the awesome package I got from Energy First.

Greenery Yummies

Energy First Greenergy

This was by far my favorite! Greenergy is a Gluten-free, Non-GMO, Vegan powder that provides you with vegetables, antioxidants, probiotics and digestive enzymes. One 30 calorie scoop equates to 5 servings of vegetables, 50% of the daily recommended value of Vitamin C, 100% of the daily recommended Vitamin E and 8% of the recommended daily value of fiber. I love the taste. While I mix it in my smoothies, I’ve also enjoyed it blended into a glass of almond milk.

First Pre-Fuel Pre-Workout Energizer- Orange Flavor

This stuff is yummy! I don’t always add it in my smoothies since it is a pre-fuel workout formula but it does help put a pep in my step.

Inflammation Blend with Curcumin

I’ve briefly discussed my issues with inflammation but it’s not something I talk a lot about. I often find myself dealing with back pain from not 1 but 2 car accidents (neither my fault.. in case you are wondering) and an old dance injury with my knee. I am always looking for ways to lessen the inflammation and pain that are the results of diet and even weather changes. This is has a lot of ingredients known for fighting inflammation so I love it’s results instead of popping pain meds all day.

Leanergy

I honestly think that besides the life changes I’ve been making Leanergy has helped me get my weight down 7 pounds over the last month! That being said. I would have to do an in-depth experiment over time and compare identical diet and meal habits

Energy BPA Free Blender Bottle

I can never have too many blender bottles.

I don’t think I’ve ever added peaches to my smoothie! I’ll have to try this out now.

Hi Dia, I totally like the idea of adding some protein poweder. I usually make my smoothies of bananas and spinach, but I might consider this little tweak since I am about to gain some muscle mass 🙂

  22. cori

Kudos to those who can do the green smoothies. I think they all taste like grass.

  23. Dia

This one is so good and the peach adds a great amount of sweetness.

  24. Dia

Haha you just haven’t had the right one. I think the problem for a lot of people is they put too many greens in when they start out. You have to get used to them.

  25. Dia

You may want to try adding in the ingredients slower and allowing them to break down more. Thanks for stopping by Angela.

  26. Dia

I can never do banana smoothies. I don’t like bananas in anything or anything flavored banana. I have to eat them alone. Which is a shame because it would be some protein!

  27. Ashley

  53. Aileen @ Aileen Cooks Blog

I’ve been trying to cut back on the “sweets” in my smoothies, too. Gradual really is best, so it’s not such a shock to your taste buds.

  54. Dia

    Exactly!

  55. Emily from SGSB

I am slowly trying to add more greens to my smoothies – I am having a hard time with the taste!

  56. Dia

Just add slowly and pick something not super aggressive. Kale isn’t great for starting out. Cucumbers add this light feeling. I also recommend spinach.
