So ladies (and gentlemen, I don’t discriminate) let me tell you something, I am tired! It’s March! If you make a 90 day or quarterly plan then you are two-thirds done with your plan. Hell, we are one-sixth done with the year! That makes me want to take a nap and a vacation but no rest for the wicked. So because time moves so fast let’s not waste any.
February 2017 Goals
Objective: Launch TheBalancedSideHustle.com and just list build and connect like crazy.
I am launching the course site on Monday 3/6 the first official day of pre-sale! So excited!
Personal Goals
- Read one book
In my Forest Gump voice, “I was reading.” I’m actually reading 4 other books currently but have most of them on pause while I focus on my course launch but I did finish 2 books this month.
She Means Business by Carrie Green.
I loved this book, I felt so inspired and it was just what I needed to read before a launch.
Round The Way Girl by Taraji P. Henson
I love Taraji P. Henson, and I mean almost jump up and down on a couch Tom Cruise circa 2005. I had always been a fan as I grew up watching a lot of black cinema and of course, I adore her sassy character Cookie on Fox’s hit television show Empire. But after this book, I love her even more. She is educated, well-rounded, thoughtful and just really reminds me of my big sister, to be honest. It’s hilarious and I would suggest getting the Audible version so you can hear the voice she does for her late father.
- Get back into meditating
When my anxiety reached its peak I knew I had to get back into it. It’s been great. I don’t do it every day but I have started doing it more regularly.
- Do at least one activity a week for myself that isn’t work related.
I think all things considered I have managed to do this. Some weeks it may have been hot yoga, therapy or just watching the entire first season of the Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix in a weekend.
- Do my gratitude/goal journal at least 5 days a week if not 7.
I love this. I normally do it right after I get out of the shower. A time when my mind isn’t as clouded and I can just reflect on the day and myself for a few moments.
- Party like it’s 1999 for my grandpa’s 85th! I love that guy. Here is a picture for the hell of it.
It was so nice to see the family. I think he had a great time.
Blog and Freelance Goals
- Continue working on Launch Your Signature Course!
Yes! Right now I am in the section of the course all about launching, so I’m pretty excited.
- Have 555 Facebook page likes
545 Whomp whomp. I haven’t been as active on Facebook as I’d like. Hopefully next month.
- Have 3200 Twitter Followers
3275! Yay!
- Have 1125 Instagram Followers
1145! I think a part of this is the Imperfect Boss campaign I participated with on Instagram.
- Have 990 Pinterest Followers

- Create at least one new Resource for my Resource Library

- Post at least 4 times this month

- Spend at least 10 minutes a day engaging on each of the above social media sites. That means repinning, responding to tweets of others or seeing what their links are, etc.
Yes and no. I have been in heavy focus mode and have been trying to stay away from unnecessary distractions and let’s be honest most of the time that is social media. I did manage to post consistently on all of them thanks to Buffer and BoardBooster.
- Do at least 2 webinars
I did not get to host any webinars this month. I still made connections and feel like I helped people and that really is my ultimate goal.
- Reach out to affiliates
Yes! Not as many as I would like but the month is young!
- Do auto versions on relevant posts. I did my first audio take on a blog post in January. I have been wanting to do this for a while and plan to do it for posts in certain categories.
I did audio for the 2 posts I felt needed it and to be honest, I really do like it. I recently had someone asked if I had a podcast and now I am seriously considering making the audio files available on podcasting sites. I know that I’d need to clean them up a bit and do intros and stuff, so it would be down the line.
Health and Fitness
- Make meals at home 80% of the time or only eat out 4 times of the week.
Yes! Although I have found a new favorite healthy fast food option for the days I didn’t make my lunch.
- Go to a gym class at least 3 times a week.
I did better this month. I didn’t get to 3 times but did manage to do twice a week.
- Lose 5 pounds more.
Done! I’ve officially lost 20 pounds and want to lose at least 10 more. I have worked hard. I’ve watched my friends eat cheese sticks, while I’ve eaten an apple and protein shake. I haven’t been suffering but I have been being more conscious. Not only is my weight down but so is my blood pressure.
