For success, attitude is equally as important as ability.
-Harry F. Banks
My thoughts: So often the reason people fail isn’t because they don’t have the ability to do something, it’s because they have the wrong attitude. They focus on the negatives, the amount of work, the amount of time and the naysayers instead of on the fact that they CAN do it. So the next time you are about to give up, remember, the right attitude is half the battle.
This isn’t to say you aren’t allowed to have a bad day. We all need to rant and cry sometimes, but then you pick yourself up and push forward.
If you go into a project with the mindset you won’t succeed, guess what, you probably won’t. You don’t have to live with your head in the clouds or with some unrealistic optimism but playing the victim for too long gets you nowhere. Life happens, curve balls come and things get hard but believing if you work hard and you make plans things are more likely to improve than if you just bitch and moan about what’s wrong.
I know how easy it is to succumb to the road blocks. What it feels like when can no longer go on and that none of your work is paying off. I also know that even the smallest crack is able to let a flood of light come in. By celebrating those small victories and feeling that small dot of light on your skin you can experience great things and great feelings. Sometimes those small wins are all you have. Remind yourself to be grateful for the little things so you can be ready for the big ones.

What are some things you do to stay positive? How do you separate negative temporary feelings with destructive ones? How do you carry on when you want to give up?
