On the damage our parents leave…

“All parents damage their children. It cannot be helped. Youth, like pristine glass, absorbs the prints of its handlers. Some parents smudge, others crack, a few shatter childhoods completely into jagged little pieces, beyond repair.”
―Mitch Albom

My Thoughts: This may seem like a strange quote to post just days after Mother’s Day but I think that depends on how you look at it. I think that this quote can actually make you feel better if you have a problems or a tarnished relationship with one or  both of your parents. It reminds you that parents are also human too. As hard as it is to accept anyone you love will cause you some damage, pain or anguish, no matter how unintentional it may be, at some point and time . The important thing is how they respond to it once they do.  For the fortunate children their parents are just doing the best they can and some of the prints they mark us with are those simply things passed down by their parents. Just remember there is no perfect parent just as there is no perfect person.
