On the meaning of hard work…

Working hard

My Thoughts: I currently have 2 jobs. I have many positions, writer, sister, daughter, friend, to name a few, but I have 2 jobs. The one that I go to Monday- Friday and let go at the end of the day, this one pays the bills. Then there is my second job, the one that I work on till midnight, that I block out parts of my lazy Sundays to focus on, the one that I love to talk about and occasionally gives me enough income to watch a movie and get a sandwich.

The funny thing is regardless of their differences, I work my ass off at both of them and the result completely different. Not in the quality or product but in how feel after I complete them.

It isn’t that my first job is horrible or unbearable (although it does have it’s days) it’s just that I’m not passionate about it, not the way I am about writing.

The thing is right now as a twenty-something with bills to pay I have to do one to do the other, and one day that will change.  I just love that this quote makes you really think about what you’re doing.  It’s important know the difference between what you have to do and what you want, then you have to figure out the why and that is when you can eliminate what’s wasting your time. What is moving you toward your passion and what is pulling you away from it.

Don’t spend your whole life working for stress, work for passion.

I, too, wear many hats: I’m a work from home parent to my toddler, a freelance writer, and a travel blogger. Like you, I find myself spending my free time working on my blog because I just love it SO much. It seriously feels like my second kid sometimes! 🙂

Isn’t it great when you find something you love so much! I really respect people who blog and have little ones to take care of to be totally honest sometimes I end up having wine for dinner or just eating horribly because I get so wrapped up in it… which isn’t great but it’s okay because I don’t have anyone looking to me for dinner lol Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Wow I love this. I was really being stressed about going to work everyday because I just can’t wait to be a full time entrepuenuer. But now I see it as a blessing and am more appreciative of it now. I’m going to work hard at it and when it’s time to leave, I’ll know that I’m leaving with grace.

Tiffany, I deal with that at least once a week. In face last night my guy came over to make me dinner and I spent the first 20 minutes talking about how frustrated I was at my day job and finally I talked myself out of the self pity and reminded myseld I had a plan. Good luck with your goals.
